SAINT BERNARD MONKS FIRST NEWS FOR SIX MONTHS (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright! Received Nov. 23, 9.5 p.m. LONDON, Nov. 23. The Milan correspondent of the Times says that the Prior of Saint Bernard Hospice, after six months' silence, is delighted to learn that Fathers Coquoz and Melly who, accompanied by lay workers and dogs from St. Bernard, went to the Himalayas in 1934 in order to build hospices, are in good health and earnestly fulfilling their mission. An avalanche having destroyed the first hospice built at a height of 13,000 feet, they erected another at a lower altitude of 10,000 ft. They have planted 54 varieties of grape vines at a lower level.
