The common cold, which costs British industry at least £20,000,000 a year, has defied the G.P.O. for three years, during which an inoculation campaign has been carried on, with the co-operatTon or hundreds of workers, Now the G.P.O. is retiring from lh( conflict defeated. It is announced that practically nc headway has been made at. Londor or Manchester Universities, which are still conducting research into colds and influenza without, being met with success.
