THE FLOWER SHOW The annual flower show u 11] h® held to-day, and promises to prove as great an attraction as ever. Firstclass entries of roses, sweet peas and other outdoor flowers are promised, and lhe fruit, vegetable and domestic sections will also fill well. The doon open at 2 p.m. and in the evening at 7 p.m. St MM ER WEATHER Outdoor sports are now In full swing, the weather having turned warm and summery. On Saturday members of Bulls Tennis Club travelled .to Palmerston North, and bowlers went to Marton. Cricket practice has commenced, and croquet also. Players of all games hope for a better season this year, last summer being the worst on record from the point of view of favourable weather. KITCHEN EVENING On Tuesday evening Mrs R. MaO i kay gave a kitchen evening for Miss Hazel Purnell in honour of her ap« proaching marriage to Mr lan Jolly, iof Marlon.
