FISHERMEN’S DISPUTE
THE PARTIES CONFER [Per Press Art relation] AUCKLAND, Oct. 20. The parties to the fishermen’s dispute met to-day, the Conciliation Commissioner (Mr R. E. Price) presiding. After discussion the meeting adjourned until to-morrow. It is understood that the dealers interested in the export trade to Australia have come to an agreement to eliminate competition and pricecutting on the Australian market, possibly by giving one Auckland firm a monopoly in the export trade, so that they may be able to pay the fishemen 2d per pound for schnapper. as the fishermen are demanding.
