NELSON—RICHARDS The marriage of Normal May Richards, granddaughter of Mrs A. I Richards, of Gonville, to Noel, only son of Mrs C. E. Neilson and the late Mr Neilson, of “Mount Zion,” Okoia, was celebrated on the morning of Wednesday, October 14, at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Wanganui, by the Rev. H. Beggs. Mrs Emmett was the organist. The bride, who was escorted by her uncle, wore a rained frock of pearl honiton lace mounted over pale pink satin. The bodice, with its low square neck softly swathed at the back, had long tight-fitting sleeves, and a silver plaited girdle encircled the waist. A coronet of orange blossoms, held to the head her long veil of pale pink embroidered tulle and pink rosebuds and sweet peas, with lily of the valley composed her bouquet. Miss Jean Hamilton, the bride’s cousin, who was bridesmaid, wore a frock of deep pink sprigged georgette, with frilled skirt and puff sleeves. Her large hat was of pink lace straw, and in her bouquet were pink sweet peas and roses. Little Barbara Clark (cousin of the bride) and Noeline Mclntyre (niece of the bridegroom) were the flower girls. Mrs Neilson, the bridegroom’s mother, wore a navy blue ensemble, bangkok straw hat in the same shade with toning trimming and carried a posy of pink posie. For going away the bride wore a tailored suit and navy and white blouse, under a musquash fur coat, a smart hat of white triple tulle trimmed with a white flower and navy cire.
