BUILDING LOAN
HOSPITAL BOARD REQUEST [ Per Press Ar.soelatlon. 1 DANNEVIRKE, Oct. 14. At the September meeting of the Dannevirke Hospital Board an intimation was received from the general-manager of the Government Life Oflice that his hoard was unable to entertain the hospital board ' ■rplication for a building loan c 000. This caused the board’s man to comment that the depar'.. ' nr would not lend money at 31 per cent., which he considered inconsistent with the Government policy. On his motion it was decided to take Ihe matter up with the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance. This they did, but received no satisfaction. The Prime Minister’s reply simply intimated that he was referring the matter to the Minister of Finance, who was in charge of the department. Mr Nash thanked the board for its information with regard to the loan required by it “and hoped It would be possible for the board to obtain Ihe balance of the sum mentioned by it.”
