WONDER BOY VIOLINIST

AUDIENCE CAPTIVATED The audience at the Majestic Theatre on Sunday night was captivated with the performance of the eight-year-old violinist, Alan Loveday, ot Palmerston North. This genius 01 the bow startled his listeners by playing some of the most difficult ol music. His wonderful ability impressed itself forcibly on everybody. Alan played four difficult numbers and the audience showed marked appreciation of his work. The Garrison Band, which had been responsible for arranging the concert, under the baton of Mr R. Francis, L.R.S.M., was heard in the overture “Morning, Noon | and Night" (von Suppe). The band , has shown marked improvement of late and this number afforded it full I scope. Bandsmen Farrell and Herd were heard in a cornet duet, -with be rd accompaniment. This also was a pleasing number. The artists assisting the band, in addition to Alan Loveday, were R. Howell (elocution) and W. F. Roberton (tenor). Their contributions were highly appreciated. As usual Mrs S. L. Kendall, F.T.C.L., the band's accompaniste, was of great help. Shs accomplished a difficult task in accompanying the boy violinist.
