Earl McCready, British Empire champion, 16st. 121 b., added a further win to his long list of successes by defeating George Pencheff, 15st. 51bs. in a professional wrestling contest. The bout ended abruptly in the fifth round in which McCready secured a fall with a body press after twice dumping his opponent heavily. Pencheff was unable to continue. Joe Savoldi knocked out Lofty Blomfield with a'drop-kick after the timekeeper’s bell had terminated the seventh round of the professional heavyweight wrestling match at Wellington Town Hall to-night. For this breach Savoldi was disqualified and the bout awarded to Blomfield. Until this episode the scores stood equal at one fall to each. Blomfield had pinned Savoldi within three seconds of the opening bell when the other’s drop-kick missed. Savoldi had taken a fall in the fifth round with a successful drop-kick and press.
