CHARRED LETTERS
DAMAGED AIK MAIL ARRIVES. [ Per Tices Association. ] AUCKLAND, Oct. 12. The charred and smoky air mail letters which arrived by the Aorangi to-day brought evidence of the disastrous air liner tire at Delhi at the end of last month. Most of the mail ./as undamaged, ten bags out of twelve destined for New Zealand being salvaged, but several hundred people throughout New Zealand will receive letters with burnt and blackened edges, repaired somewhat by clerks in the Chief Post Offices.
