Mr. S. H. Maddren, manager Maddren Bros., Ltd., Christchurch, is on a business visit to Wanganui. Mr. G. R. McKenzie, of Wanganui, is a visitor to Wellington, where he is attending a conference of transport, interests. Mr. J. S. Barton, S.M., who was formerly magistrate at Wanganui, is visiting the city. He is accompanied by Mrs. Barton. Messrs. J. H. Mason.. W. Fotaka, and J. W. Franklin were elected as active members at last night's meeting of the committee of the Wanganui Aero Club. Messrs. John E. Hunt, J.P., and Norman Collingwood represented the firm of Standard Motor Bodies, Ltd., (Wellington) at the funeral ot Mrs. Jessie Hope Gibbons, on Sunday. A motion of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr. L. J. C. Rucherfurd, who, for eight years, was assist-ant-engineer to the Waitouira County Council, was carried at yc-terday’s monthly meeting. Motions of condolence with Mr Hope Gibbons in the loss of his wife were passed last night by the Queen Alexandra’s' Own Mounted Rifles Band and the Wanganui Garrison Band. Mr Gibbons is a trustee of the former band and a keen supporter oi the Garrison Band.
