Mollison is leaving for New York to attempt, his third Atlantic flight in the Bellanca “Flash.” capable of 270 miles an hour and reputed to be the fastest ’plane in the world. He hopes to begin the flight on October 17. and. flying at 20,000 feet, to reach Croydon from New York In 17 hours. He will later try to break the record from England to Johannesburg and England to the Cape, after which he will consider plans for a round-the-world flight at the Equator.
