Assets and Liabilities. NOTE ISSUE LOWER The weekly statement of assets and liabilities of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand as at the close of business on Monday, September 14, is as follows :
Proportion of reserve (No. 7 less 1 No. 5) to rates and other demand 1 liabilities, 93,933 per cent., compared with 93,070 per cent, on September 7. : The note issue shows a small de- < crease of £18,651, standing at £11,042,360. Demand liabilities to the State ' at £5,646,308 show a decrease of £224,163. The trading banks’ reserve balances total £6,277,977, aii increase of £154,555. Other demand liabilities amount to £132,551, a decrease of £123,444. Other liabilities at £94,111 show a small decrease of £659. •On the assets side, the sterling exchange at £18,849,074 shows a small increase of £1879. Gold remains unchanged at £2,801,733. Subsidiary coin totals £180,023, a decrease of £lB2O. Advances to the State this week show a decrease of £1615, standing at £710,200. Investments at £2,035,850 are lower by £2474. Other assets at £66,427 show a decrease of £208,300. The statement balances at £24,643,307, a decrease of £212,331.
