MR. SAVAGE'S STATEMENT I Per Press Association] WELLINGTON, Sept. 17. The Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage stated to-day that he expected the first commercial radio station in the Dominion would be in operation within a fortnight, as it was possible to acquire one of the Auckland B stations, and he saw no practical difficulty in respect to the question of staff. With regard to a short, wave station for oversea transmission, he was unable to state definitely when it would be established. There was so I much to do in connection with the radio policy that breathing space must be allowed the Government.
