AERODROME MYSTERY

INJURED OFFICER FOUND WOUNDED BELOW WINDOW LONDON, Aug. 24. Police are inquiring into the mystery ot injuries received by FlightLieutenant G. L. Menzies, an R.A.F. officer from Sydney, who was found unconscious early this morning under a dormitory window at North Weald air field, Epping, his pyjamas being stained with blood. He was taken to hospital in a serious condition. Doctors are baffled on account of the wounds. Flight-Lieutenant Menzies joined the R.A.F. in 1931 and had not long [arrived from Singapore, where he had flying-boat experience. He is now with No. 56 Fighter Squadron at North Weald. The Air Ministry is silent, and states that an official inquiry will be held tomorrow.
