FORDELL BRANCH A committee meeting was held in the Wanganui W.D. rooms on Friday, August 21. Present were Miss Macdonald (in the chair), Mesdames Morgan and D. Campion and the Misses Howie, Williams and Wyley. Apologies were received from Mesdames Bailee, K. and D. Sutherland, Wilkinson, Christie, Wills, Howie and Woolven and Miss Collins. The minutes of the last meeting were read and several accounts passed tor payment. An invitation to members of the branch to attend the birthday patty of the Wanganui branch on Wednesday, August 26, was read and accepted with thanks. It was decided to hold a social afternoon at Fordell in October. Miss Macdonald gave a reptrt of the conference and remits which had been referred back to the branch were discussed. A letter from the Disabled Soldiers’ Association and an appeal for help for the lepers were read and well be brought up again at the next meeting which will be held on the last Frida'of September.
