Captain I. B. D. Dewar, of India, is a visitor to the city and is a guest at the Rutland Hotel. The Hon. Michael Connolly, M.L.C., is visiting Wanganui for several days on his way to Wellington from a visit to New Plymouth. Mr T. P. Pauling, of the Australian Rugby team at present visiting Wanganui, is a nephew of Mrs E. J. Hughes, of “Braeburn.” Mr. J. Ward, who has been appointed to represent the Primary Schools’ Rugby Union on the Wanganui Metropolitan Rugby Union, was welcomed by the chairman, Mr. A. C. It was announced yesterday, reports a Press Association message, that Mr Ernest M. Bardsley had been appointed secretary to the Wellington Chamber of Commerce. Mr Bardsley for several years has been practising as a public accountant and organising secretary at Hawera. He is a son of Mr W. J. Bardsley, who was secretary of the Timaru and Otago Harbour Boards.
