MAXWELL CLUB A FORTNIGHT’S RESPITE. Owing to the busy farming period now being experienced, the Maxwell Gold Club will close till September 12. TAWHERO GOLF CLUB The second qualifying round of the above club’s championships was played on the Municipal Golf Links on Saturday last. The weather conditions were anything but ideal for golf but not withstanding this some very good cards were returned. J. Karaitiana headed the list with a splendid nett 32, and J. Watson was a close second with a nett 33. Among the ladies, Mrs. Wilson’s 39 and Mrs. Temperton's 40 were very creditable performances.
