Mr. G. B. Drummond, of New York, is visiting Wanganui and is staying at Foster's Hotel. . Messrs J. P. Todd and C. C. Radcliffe, of Kinosha, Wis. (U.S.A.), are visiting Wanganui. They are guests at Foster’s Hotel. Mrs. Walter Richardson, accompanied by Miss Richardson, of Philadelphia (U.S.A.), are visitors to Wanganui and are guests at Foster’s Hotel. After attending the conference of private hotel proprietors at Wellington at which he represented Wanganui and Taranaki interests, Mr. W. J. Gibson Hughes returned to Wanganui yesterday. The Rev. Raymond Dudley left for Auckland yesterday, where he will represent the Methodist Church of New Zealand at the Inter-denomina-tional Evangelistic Mission. The supply at Trinity Church during his absence will be student A. Fetch, who is to be the guest of Mrs P. S. Whitlock, Somme Parade. The Rev. R. Dudley returns on September 3. Mr. E. H. W. Rowntree, M.A., headmaster of the intermediate School, will be given a public farewell in the Opera House on Monday The function is being arranged by the Intermediate School Committee and representatives of educational and sports bodies in Wanganui. Mr. Rowntree has resided in Wanganui for 14 years and has done r/uch for the educational welfare of the community, firstly as a master of the Wanganui Technical College and later in his present capacity. He has also played a prominent part in social and sports activities. On the eve of his departure for the South Island, where he will be rector of the Gore High School, Mr. Rowntree will receive public recognition of his services.
