PATHETIC SCENE AS THEY WERE SOLD There were touching scenes in th» East Cowes yard, when the equipment and stores of Britannia, Ring George's racing cutter, were sold recently. Captain A. B. Turner, Britannia's old skipper, could not bring himself to watch the passing of all the objects he knew so well. He went outside the sale room with his wife. Others who had also served in the yacht were obviously affected when they saw familiar fittings and furniture being handed over into the keeping of others. Some of them were in tears. Many of the women buyers showed the keenest interest in household articles in the ship such as beds, linen and chairs. These were quicklj sold. In less than six hours the 350 lots fetched nearly £lO5O.
