Ratana junior match set down for last Saturday and postponed on account of Marist absence in Hawera has not been included in competing the above points. METROPOLITAN UNION MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE LAST NIGHT’S MEETING The Management Committee of the Wanganui Metropolitan Rugby Union met last, night, Mr. A. C. Danielson presiding. There were also present Messrs. R. I. Sewell, J. Moye, E. Naumann, J. Vollemere, Dixon, E. Whiting, Alan Lockett, Alex Taka'rangi, and W. Kruse. The Manawatu Rugby Union wrote accepting August 15 for a junior representative match at 2 p.m. The Police-Press Committee wrote suggesting that the match be promoted this season to a curtain-raiser to the union’s Charity Cup final. The idea was to allow 50 per cent, of the takings to be devoted to the injured players’ fund and the balance to such deserving causes as the committee would decide. The suggestion was approved and September 5 was allocated. Messrs. Swan and Takarangi were appointed representatives on the Police and Press Committee. Discussion took place with regard to the promotion of a Charity Cup contest between the four A Metropolitan teams in an eliminating round Kaierau, Waverley, Old Boys, and Technical Old Boys. The decision to play accordingly was adopted, the round to commence next Saturday, Kaierau to play Waverley, at Waverley. Permission was granted Wanganui and Old Boys to play New Plymouth Old Boys on racecourse No. 4, at 1.30 p.m. next Saturday. A challenge from the Kaierau Club thirds for the Maoriland Cup was referred to the fixtures committee. Permission was granted tne Kaierau Club to advertise its annual ball by means of posters on the grounds. It was decided to send the fifth grade players to Waverley next Saturday, the team to leave the city at 12 noon, and play as a curtain-raiser to the Kaierau v. Waverley Charity Cup match. Messrs. Clarke and Blair were appointed managers of the fifth team, and the secretary was instructed to arrange a bus to leave at noon from the corner of Victoria Avenue and Taupo Quay,
