MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING This evening Bulls (holders) and Sanson (challengers) will shoot at Bulls for the McKelvie Cup. Recently, at Sanson, Bulls went under by two points, and another keen tussle is expected to-night. BULLS WOMEN’S INSTITUTE The monthly meeting of the Bulls Women’s Institute was held on Monday, August 3, Mrs. H. Ellery presiding over a fair attendance of members. Mrs. Andrews read the balancesheet of the dance and card evening held last month.. Arrangements were made for the institute’s birthday on August 31. Competition-winners were as folJlow: Plate of plain scones, Mrs. Peflbaby’s knitted singlet, Mrs. Walls. Mr. Lewis (Feilding) gave an instructive demonstration on Singer sewing machine appliances, the

machine being run by electricity. He was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. The next monthly meeting will be held on September 14, when the competition will be for the best bloom in the garden, the trophy being kindly donated by Mrs. Huddleston. The meeting closed with the National Anthem. GENERAL NEWS Mr. Fred Thorby, who met with a motor-cycle accident on Saturday, is progressing favourably, but for a broken collarbone, which is on the mend.
