THE MA JESTIC. “WHEN KNIGHTS WERE BOLD.” In this production, “When Knights Were Bold,” his latest, and undoubtedly his greatest screen success, -uidiences xvill see Jack Buchanan in a film after his own heart, for he was given free reign in the selection of the story for this, his initial Associated Distributors’ production. As a light-hearted young army officer, xvho inherits a title and an estate, also a very dignified and straight-laced family, Jack has limitless scope to reveal his great versatility in the many scrapes and diiiicult situations that inevitably result xvhen a very modern young man of to-day comes in contact xvith a stately family who dwell in the realms of yesterday. One ray of sunshine pierces the gloom, in the form of his lovely cousin, Rowena hut Jack soon finds that of modern love-making she knows nothing, and his only chance of winning her hand is by a gallant and knightly act. So back he goes to the good (?) old lays when knights were bold, but only succeeds in setting them a higher standard of boldness to live up to. Catchy songs, witty dialogue, and, of course, what no Buchanan picture would be complete without—his spirited tapdancing—all combine to make “W hen Knights Were Bold” a film that both young and old alike xvill want to see once—twice—and even thrice, when it comes to the Majestic Theatre tonight (Thursday). Makaranui. Dr. Jordan contended that an Aero Club should be formed. Mr. Shout considered that a ground was needed first. On the motion of Mr. A. Laing it was decided that the formation ot an aero club be considered at the next meeting. \\ AIMARINO A.P.H. AND I. ASSOCIATION The commitlee of the A.P.H. and 1. Association has started to arrange for the next annual show, and the president, Mr. D. F. Scarrow, is keeping his men busy. Two meetings ot the committee have been held since the annual meeting, and several nexv members have joined the association. Mr. E. Warren has presented a £.5 5s cup for competition in the fat sheep section and Mr. Jefferson, of Taumarunui, has offered a trophy for competition in the horse section. The committee has decided to canvas for special prizes this season. If novelty men are unable to visit the next shoxx' the committee xvill make arrangements for amusements in charge of members. With a view to raising funds to increase the prize money and endeavour to reduce the last £l5O on mortgage it has been proposed to organise a queen carnival in co-opera-tion xvith the Raetihi School. Some of the local people have consented to assist xvhen a deputation from the committee waited upon the business peonle on Saturday. A meeting of all willing to assist will be held on Thursday night. On the recommendation of the grounds committee it was decided to install electricity in the shed and thus save the annual expense of repairing windows and skylights. It was also agreed to make some improvements and if possible the room under the grandstand will be brought into use.
