TO-MORROW’S MATCH
WAIKATO v. WANGANUI HOME TEAM SELECTED Owing to the fact that Te Aute and Collegiate School are to play in Wanganui on Wednesday a change of date has been made in the Waikato-Wan-ganui. representative fixture which was to have been pJayed here on that day. By arrangement with Waikato’s manager the match is to be played on Spriggens Park to-mororw (Tuesday) afternoon. The Wanganui selection committee (Messrs. A. Henwood, chairman, H. Whiting and Alex Takarangi) has chosen the following team to represent Wanganui:— Full-back: K. Welsh (M). Three-quarters: G. A. BullockDouglas (M), A. B. Campbell (Wai), L. Burgess (M). Five-eighths: D. G. Barton (M), R. Chase (T). Half-back: H. Brogden (M). Back of Scrum: G. Lockett (M), captain. Middle Row: James (R), A. Davidson (M), W. Firmin (M), C. Hutchinson (M). Front Row: M. McGregor (M), Poppe (R), C. Reynolds (M). Reserves: Walker (R) and Dallas (R), forwards: D. Thompson (M), back. Not available: T. Chase (T), Follas (R), W. Thompson (T), Charles (T), and D. Jones (M). Immediate notification must be made to the secretary to the Wanganui Rugby Union (Mr. C. T. Young) if any player is not available. Changing the dale of the match to put it forward a day, will not allow much in the way of preparation. The team is a good one, despite the fact that Barton is at second fiveeighths and not centre. He should perform well in either position. Removal of Campbell to one of the wing positions, however, would probably prove effective, the inference from that being that Barton is a better centre than Campbell. A good match is likely, as Waikato is reported to be a fast, well-balanced team.—“ Crossbar.” THE PRIMARY SCHOOLS SEASON'S COMPETITIONS DRAW FOR THURSDAY The Wanganui Primary Schools' Rugby Union's competitions will be continued on Thursday.
