Meteorological Office, Wellington, Alonday, June 15, 4 p.m. General Situation. —A complex series of depressions extends in a south-south east direction from Norfolk Island to beyond Otago, while an intense anti-cyclone is covering Australia and the western Tasman Sea and is moving eastwards. Forecast.—Winds: Light to moderate north-easterly predominating at first from Canterbury northwards, elsewhere southerly and strong south-easterlies or southerlies extending over most of the Dominion during to-morrow. Fleas (New Zealand waters): Aloderate, but an easterly swell on the east coast and later seas increasing generally. Eastern Tasman Sea: Strong south-easterly winds in the far southern portion, otherwise moderate to fresh north-easterlies pre vailing at first, but a general change to southerlies probable shortly and seas becoming rough to high. "Weather: Cloudy to overcast, with much mist or fog and widespread rain. Many heavy falls probable and later conditions becoming much colder with snow on the high levels and hail in places.
