The Invisible “Cottage”
Dear Wendy.— l must really not allow to-day pass by without popping in to explain a good deal that happened a week or so ago. It seems that some triek must have been played upon me by the Old Witch when passing by the site of our “Cottage.” I wonder could she have rendered the “Cottage” invisible? You know we have heard of strange things like that before, so it wouldn't surprise me if this were the ease. I wouldn’t have U«d this happen for “all the tea in China” .-is the saying has it. because from our jolly “Blue Danube’s” letter J gather great preparations must have been made for my reception. However, I see that the “Cottage” folk had the spread to themselves so that wasn't so bad after all. I did not have much time to see very much on the way, for “Old Liz’’ fairly galloped along on the journey to the Hut, and when you know it was that old rascal, the Witch, that brought about such a state of affairs, you at the “Cottage” will easily forgive me. I’ll eome to sec you and spend a whole day with you very soon. ‘OLD GRAN.”
