Reports from Bangkok state that important Japanese interests are bidding for control of the Bangkok Dock Company, of which the biggest shareholders are United Engineers, bmgapoie. Japanese control Alalayan iron mining, and since 1921 nine million tons of iron orc have been exported to Japan. The latest extension is an option c-wer a Perak property valued at a million and a-half dollars and estimated to hold seven million tons oi' ore. IRON ORE DEPOSITS DEVELOPMENT IN WEST AUSTRALIA EXPECTED SALES TO JAPAN Received June 12, 10.50 p.m. S Y DNE Y, June 12. Negotiations are well under way to develop iron ore deposits at Yampi Sound, No:.’.-West Australia, leases having been acquired by the H. A. Brassert Company, Ltd., a British company of consulting engineers whose representative, Air. T. V. Salt, arrived in Sydney on the liner Alooltan. en route for Japan. He estimates the output to bo more than half a million tons of iron orc annually. The main buyer would be Japan. Mr. Salt said his company was dealing with very responsible and important interests in that country. Employment would be given to a largo number of Australians. The venture had the approval and co-operation of the Commonwealth and West Australian Governments.
