WILLIAMSON COMED 1 “FRESH FIELDS” TOMORROW No plays previously staged in Wellington achieved such instantaneous triumphs as those which were won by J. C. Williamson, Ltd.’s productions of Ivor Nov?ilo’s de-ightful comedy “Fresh Fields” and Emlyn Williams’ terrific dramatic sensation “Night Must Fall.” They will be produced at the M a-n--ganui Opera House to morrow night and Monday, respectively. Of cuu.se, the fact that the company includes two New Zealand ladies in the leading female roles naturally has intensified the usual interest that is taken in a J. C. Williamson Ltd. attraction, and when Muss Ethel Morrison and Miss Elaine Hamill appearance they may be sure <;T a big reception. Miss Morrison has been an accomplished actress for many years, and ’.Uss Elaine Hamill has climbed the ladder of success with remarkable rapidity. This lady is gifted with a splendid stage appearance, and she has backed this up with such artistry that she is regarded in Australia as one of tlye finest of the young generation of actresses t»hat has been discovered in recent years. “Fresh Fields” has been revealed as one of the wittiest, most hilarious, and cleverest plays ol the modern stage ami caused more stir and < U’litroversv in London than any pioduction since Noci Coward’s “fallen Angels.” It ran for over two years in the Criterion Theatre, London, and did not less than fifteen weeks in the i Comedy Theatre, Melbourne. The company includes Harvey Adams. I ampbell Copelin, Katie Towers, Lloyd Lamble, Norman Shepherd, Phyllis Baker, Arthur Lane, Enid Hollins and Connie Martyn.
