FOREST FIRES
Southern New Jersey Swept AT LEAST FIVE PERSONS PERISH [By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright] Received May 27, 10.35 p.m. NEW YORK. May 26. One of the most disastrous forest fires in recent years swept southern New Jersey to-day. At least five fire-fighters were killed, one is missing, and a score mere are injured. Of the thousands of the C.C.C. boys pressed into service three were caught in the flames and killed. Two other workers died of injuries. Fifteen to twenty thousand acres of scrub pine were burnt. and four small towns within the area razed.
