WEATHER FORECAST
Meteorological Office. Wellington, Wednesday, May 27, 4 p.m. General Situation. —There is no appreciable change in the meteorological situation. An anti-cyclone still extends from Eastern Australia on to New Zealand while pressure is rather low to the north and east. Forecast.— Winds: Light and variable south of Nelson and Marlborough, elsewhere southerly to south-easterly prevailing, strong at places north of Kawhia and East Cape but otherwise light to moderate, Feas (New Zealand waters): Rough north of East Cape and a considerable but decreasing southerly swell south of East Cape; elsewhere slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: East to south-east winds, strong in the far northern area with rough seas, elsewhere light to moderate with slight to moderate seas. Weather: Fair to fine in most districts but further scattered rains likely in the far northern and north-eastern portions of the North Island. Cold night temperatures with sharp frosts.
