WING—HODGSON On the evening of May 6,193 G a quiet but pretty wedding took place at the Presbyterian Church, Martou, when Phylis Isabel, youngest daughter of Air. and Mrs. T. Hodgson, of Marton, was married to Allen Raymond (Muudy), third sou of Mr. and Mrs. J. Wing,

“Tadcroft,” Makirikiri South. Entering tire church with her father, the bride wore a graceful gown of malalease satin witn a cowl of neckline and tiny covered buttons down the back of the bodice. The sleeves, with the new slashed effect, were caught at lhe elbow with a diamante, and tight fitting to the wrists finished witn tiny buttons. The skirt, which was caught at the waist with a wide sash, fell in graceful folds to form a train over which she wore a beautiful embroidered veil (kindly lent by a friend) caught to the head with a spray 01 orange blossoms. She wore white shoes and carried a beautiful sheaf of chrysanthemums, orchids and maideuhajr fern. The bridesmaid, Miss Ella Hodgson, sister of the bride, was attued iu a pretty powder blue frost crepe frock, the smocking being an attractive feature, short sleeves, long gloves and shoes to match and a head band of pink flowers and carried a bouquet of pink, chrysanthemums and a-paigus fern. The ceremony was performed by lhe Rev. Watt, of Tuiakma, and Miss M. Windleburu presided at the organ. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Harold, as best man. The bride’s mother was al tired in « mulberry marocain frock with hat and coat to match, and carried an autumn tinted posy. The bridegroom's mother was gowned in a wine marocain frock with. biege trimmings with hat and coat to match and carried a posy of autumn fringe and berries. After the ceremony a few close relations were entertained at the residence of the bride’s parents. The beautiful wedding cake was made and presented by the bridegroom's aunt Mrs. Wm. Oldfield. The happy couple left by car for the East Coast where the honeymoon vias to be spent, the bride travelling in a brown costume with hat, coat and shoes to match. Their future home ■will be at Makirikiri South.
