N.Z- LABOUR PADTY The local branch of the N.Z. Labour Party held their monthly meeting at the residence of Mr. E. J. Davey on Thursday evening. Mr. D. J. Koster being in the chair. The delegate to the recent national conference, Mr. E. J. Bowater. gave a full report on the conference and I stated that he had been very impressed I ■with the splendid co-operation that J existed between the 290 delegates who attended the conference. Mr. Bowater stated that the delegates were keen to assist the Government in every way and he was very impressed with the wav the meeting was controlled bv the Hon. W. Nash. • The meeting congratulated Mr. Bowater on his report and recorded a vote of thanks. A vote of thanks was extended to Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Davey for their hospitality. PERSONAL Miss J. M. Peattie is spending the ichool holidays in Wanganui. Miss M. Macfarlane has gone to Levin for the term vacation. Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Hunter are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Bowater. Mr. H. Collins is spending a holiday with friends at Hamilton. Mr. A. Ingles has been discharged from the Marton Hospital. Miss Dulcie Flyger, who is attending the Wanganui Girls’ College, is spending the term holidays at “Brooklyne. ”
