MANGAWEKA

THE CROQUET CLUB The annual meeting of the Mangaweka Croquet Club was held last week with a good attendance. The report and balance-sheet was read and confirmed. The following officers were I elected for the coming season:—President, Mrs. L. Bailey; vice-president, Mr. A. Bailey; secretary, Mrs. J. Phillips; captain, Mrs. D. Matthews; green supervisors, Mesdames l\f. Sutherland and F. Jarrett; delegates to the Wanganui Association meeting, Mesdames L. Bailey and J. Phillips. It was decided to hold a series of Saturday night dances at a future date. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mrs. Sutherland for her good work as secretary for the past three years. PERSONAL Miss M. Brock is spending the winter holidays in Wanganui. Mr. M. Cox has left for "Wellington. Miss Cato, Wanganui, is visiting Mangaweka. Mr. J. Woodger is spending a holiday in Palmerston North. Miss E. Voss is visiting her sister, Mrs. T. Wright. Rev. and Mrs. E. W. Burgin have left for Foxton. Mrs. L. Peacock has returned from Auckland.
