RAILWAYS POLICY
Sir,—Mr. Smith’s criticism cf the policy to cut freights in the interest of Wellington merchants as .gainst local firms deserves recognition and it is to be hoped that the Chamber of Com inerce will take the mat'er further. It is time that not only jie city but the whole of the coast from Pa tea to the Bang tikei River and into the hinterland embracing the Waimarino and Kangitikci County Councils and including Marton Marton, Taihape and Raetihi Bc-rough should be well organ ised and federated in one large organ isation to combat centralisation and what we are forced to recognise as vested interests in the larger cities.— Yours, etc., TAXCRED A.
