“League of Three Vote for Old - Time Editions!
Dear Wendy,—We sincerely appreciated the royal welcome you extended to us upon our return to the Hut. It was most kind and considerate of you to forget that our absence so long was deserving of a rebuke, Wendy. Our page has grown very small during the passing of the last year or so, hasn’t it? If only some more of the older members could be persuaded to write again that would serve to revive its decreasing size, don’t you think? Let’s rally towards the old Hut and bring along those older Ites as well as our. newly-acquired friends, so that when faced by such a strong demand for more consideration and space, Mr. Printerman will restore to us our double page. Dear Wendy, we have been delighted by the r eipt of several letters in answer to our plea for correspondents, but would gladly welcome still more of them. The weather has been awful, hasn’t it? Now, before we close there is an amusing story to relate, which is as follows:—One
man who was bald asked a friend for his opinion on the most effective hair restorer, and was told to sprinkle his head with salt, which would make the young hair thirsty. Being so, it would then come through the skin, whereupon he was to grab it and tie each pair together before they slipped back again. And now we must sign ourselves off with a showc • of love and kisses to be shared by yourself, Wendy, and all others within the Hut this week. We arc still united as one under the disguise of “THE LEAGUE OF i THREE,” Wanganui. Bow pleased 1 am to have your wel- ‘ come letter again so soon, you three ' loyal Ites of mine. Yes, our page has become smaller, but through the depression it has been curtailed to one page instead of two. This, of course, curtails our activity somewhat, but one day our former glory will return to us. I am pleased you have received letters in response to your request. An amusing story indeed.—Wendy.
