N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS NEW PLYMOUTH DATES. TARANAKI CENTRE MEETS. A recommendation to the annual co* ference of delegates that the Stratford Club be granted permission to hold a special carnival on the “off” night of the New Zealand championships was passed at a meeting of the executive of the Taranaki centre of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Associaion at New Plymouth. This probably would be the occasion of the opening of the new Stratford municipal baths. Mr. F. J. Eggleton (chairman) presided and there was an attendance of eight delegates. Messrs. F. J. Eggleton, J. Devine, 8. F. Fookes, W. J. Moorhead, A. C. Sims and Misses Hammond and Main were appointed a special sub-cotnmittee to carry on during the winter months, and especially in regard to the arrangements for the championships. It wai decided to recommend to the sub-com-mittee that the opening night of the championships be during the progress of the Taranaki Jockey Club’s autumn meeting wt the beginning of February. I On the motion of Mr. Moorhead it [was decided to amend bhe rules to expend the boundaries of the Taranaki 'Centre as arranged by the New Jbeailand Council. A decision to concen- ! trate on an art uAiion and social gatherings was the outcome of discussion on i ways and means of raising extra finance.
