It was much discussed when fust produced and created almost a storm of controversy until it was realised that the purpose of the comedy was satire, with the aim of bringing about a better understanding between English people and those “down under.” Miss Ethel Morrison, ■ the clever New Zealand actress, plays the role of Lady Mary Crabbe in “Fresh Fields,” that of a widow whose deceased husband’s Australian friends, a warm-hearted innkeeping family, come to London and take up residence in the Belgravian mansion.
