The trial of Hugh Urquhart Neil Gunn, on a charge of murdering William Beatty, at Waitepeka, was continued in the Supreme Court to-day. He would say that he picked up a stick to urge a horse through the gateway. It would be stated that the horse reared and that Ihe deceased was thrown against a straining post. Accused was never on the same side of the horse as the deceased, whose in juries might have been caused in a variety of ways. Evidence along these lines was given bv Ihe accused, who will be crossexamined to-morrow morning.
