BOOT’S CHRISTCHURCH TIME RECOGNITION REFUSED [ Per Press Association. ] WELLINGTON, May 5. Because the ground was not surveyed after the race and on the day of the race, the N.Z.A.A.A. Council to’night refused to recognise V. P. Boot s time of Imin. 53 2-ssee. for the 880 yards, run at Christchurch, as a New Zealand record. The following records were approved:— Boot: 1000 yards in 2min. 14 3-ssec., 880 yards in Imin. 54 4-ssec. C. H. Matthews: Three miles in 14min. 18 3-ssec. August 29 was approved as the date for the New Zealand cross country championship to be held at Auckland provided a suitable ground is available. .
