ALLEGED LEAKAGE TRIBUNAL TO INQUIRE LONDON, May i. In the House of Commons the Chancellor of the Exchequer (Mr Neville Chamberlain) stated that offing to > n ’ dieations that a Budget leakage might have occurred the Government was appointing a judicial tribunal to investigate. Mr Chamberlain added: “I think it is obvious that without any sinister move a tribunal might find evidence disclosing the possible source of information which it is not desirable to make public, because it would afford opportunities for leakages in the future.” , . The necessary motion establishing the tribunal will come before the House of Commons to-morrow. The tribunal will have all of the powers vested in the High Court. INQUIRY IN PUBLIC [ British Official Wireless. ] RUGBY 7 , May 4. The Chancellor of the Exchequer, in a statement regarding the Budget leakage, said that the inquiry would be held in public, except when and if the tribunal itself should decide that evidence in public was not desirable.
