SAMPAN WRECKED
JAPANESE CREW DESTITUTE ARRIVAL AT THURSDAY ISLAND. BRISB.NE, April 8. Thirty-one Japanese have arrived at Thursday Island in four small boats. They are the crew of the sampan Fukuju Maru, which was wrecked last Friday about 150 miles south of Cape York. They were immediately taken in charge by the Customs authorities. All the men were destitute and cannot speak English.
