CHRISTCHURCH DRAW BLOMFIELD AND MEHRINGER AMERICAN’S NEW HOLD [ Per Press Association 1 CHRISTCHURCH, April 9. In the first wrestling bout to-night of the Christchurch season Lofty Blomfield (New Zealand), 16.8, and Peter Mchringer (U.S.A.), 15.5, drew* each gaining one fall. The bout was fast ami- interesting and sometimes spec tacular. Mehringer gained a fall in the fourth round with a spectacular new hold, a double reverse grapevine, and in the seventh round Blomfield equalised with a Boston crab applied after the American had thrown him with fue successive headlocks. PALMERSTON NORTH BOUT WADE AND KENT DRAW ( Per Press Association. ) PALMERSTON N., April S Two American professionals, Hnrrj Kent and Glen Wade, wrestled a draw to-night, with no falls. It was a good average display.
