“THE FIGHTING CODE.’’ That popular action star, Buck Jones, comes to the Majestic Theatre today in the latest of his Columbia outfloor. action pictures, “The Fighting Code,” in which he is supported by a new lending lady, Diane Sinclair. Buck is seen as a young stranger in the little western town of Whitewater where public hatred is directed against the name of Helen Janies, played by Miss Sine air, because all facts point to her father ’a theft of bank funds before his subsequent suicide. Posing as the long missing brother of Helen, Buck gradually solves the mystery of the d3!ith of the girl’s father. In working towards the solution he is p : tted against a gang of men actively working to fcize the James property, and it is only after numerous gun battles and thrilling escapes that Buck succeeds in capturing the real thieves and proving the innocence of Helen’s father. Robert Allen and Florence Rico are the principal players in “Guard That Girl.” the second picture. A murder mystery of distinct originality, the film traces the gradual detection of a murderer who is out of the common run of criminals. Barbara Kent and Bert Roach are included in the supporting cast.
