Solid scoring marked Australia’s innings in the cricket match against Western Province and when the home team batted again tney faced a de.icienry of 200 runs. At the luaeheon adjournment Australia's score had been advanced to 137 at the cost of the opening batsmen. The bowling was well collared in the afternoon and Chipperfiebl carried his bat after making a century. Chipperfield returned to his best form and played a delightful innings occupving 134 minutes. Sievers also gave an entertaining display. Darling was unable to bat owing to an indisposition.
