EARL BEATTY’S FUNERAL
CROWDS PAY HOMAGE LONDON, .Mar.-h I.;. .Spring sunshine marked Karl Beatty’s funeral at tSt. i’aul's, which was on exactly the same line as Lohl Jellicoc's. The streets were lined with crowds six deep. The Union Jack down from the Liou at Jutland covered Earl Beatty’s cuiiin, which was followed by three officers carrying cushions bearing Earl Beatty’s greui array oi’ decorations. Then came the thief mourners, behind whom were the Duke of York and Duke of Kent marching together, followed by representatives of foreign Governments and services, and large contingents of the tihree British services. Mr. S. M. Bruce and Sir James Pari represented th-e Governments of Australia and New Zealand respectively; Commander Leitch and Hear-Admiral Wells the Australian and New Zealand navi-es. The pall-bearers were I.ord Trent-hard, Admirals Sir Olivei Debrock. Keyes, Tyrwhitt, Chatfield, Goodenough, Cowaiq and l icld-Mar-shal Cavan.
