Arrested at Napier and brougat to Pahiatua where he was, remanded un a charge of assault on Alarch 6, a single vagrant, Walter Bishup, appeared before justices of the peace yesterday on a fu.ther charge of arson in connection with a sevenroomed nouse owned by Charles Beetham. Hislop made a statement which Detective Bickerdike produced in Court, admitting the assault on a farmer named Hub, which was committed in a fit of rage as the result of an altercation while at the latter’s iarin necking a meal.
