I SERVICE COMMENCES TEN BAGS FOR SOUTH I Per Prata Association. ’ PALMERSTON N., March 16. Ten bags of air mail aggregating 75 lbs. were sent this morning by Unio i Airways liner in the regular air mail from this centre. Mail weighing 201bs. were received already bagged from Auckland by the Limited Express. There were two bags each for Blenheim, Nelson, Christchurch and Dunedin, and one each for Timaru and Oamaru. There was a small official gathering at the aerodrome, including Mr. J. Hodgens, M.P., Mr. A. E. Mansford. .Mayor of Palmerston North, and Mr. N. S. Falla, chairman of Union Airwavs. Brief speeches were made prior to the Heroplane's departure. The Chief Postmaster (Mr. Black' handed over the bags, and th? All Black footballer. R. M. The Blenheim postal officials had an extremely busy time tnis morning when the air mail services commenced operations, handling JSOU letters for various destinations. These included a large amount of correspondence for forward delivery on behalf of philatcl ists in different parts of the Dominion.
