The monthly meeting of rhe geneni! committee of the Rangitikei A. and P. Association was held on Saturday afternoon, when Mr. John Quirk occupied the thair in the unavoidable absence of the president • Mr. J. M. B. Collier). Also present wore Messrs G. K Anderson. E. R. Fannin. A. K. Fannin. W. X. Anderson, W. R. Anderson. J. Webb. D. Broome, A. E. Samwav-. (4. L. Brown. H. H. Harris, V. Ni 4 oils, A K. Overton, R. S. Treadwell. J. Ormond, and the secretary (Mr. C. E. Darvill.. AjMilogies were received from Messrs. Collier. Addis, Ferguson, Pairman and Cottrell. The meeting stood in silence as a mark of respect to the memory of the late Mrs. D. E. Boon. The secretary reported that Mrs. R. H. Lowry and Miss X. Cottrell had tied for the Taihape Times Cup (most points in classes for saddle and harness horses- with 26 points each. On the motion of Mr. J. Webb, it was decided that both names be engraved on the cup. The secretary also informed the meeting that M-’ssrs. F. Dewhirst, Gee. King and T. Mayhew had tied for Mr. A. R. Fannin’s cup for potatoes with 16 points each, and the meeting decided that in this rase also ail three names should be engraved on the cun. M r . A. O. A‘ldis was accorded a vote of thanks for supplying the green feed for. the show. The secretary submitted a financial statement in connection with the silver jubilee show, disclosing that receipts totalled £592 12s, and expenditure £585 IHs ,3d. leaving a profit of £6 13s 9d. The gate takings for the day, including the evening entertainment, amounted to £ll4 Is, compared with £142 ISs 6d last year. These sums include the grandstand and car gate receipts as well as the proceeds from the main gate. The gate takings at the evening entertainment this year amounted to £36, compared with £4B last year. Prize-money totalled £366 12s 6d this ▼ear. as against £278 9s in 1935, an increase of £"S 3s 6d. The proceeds from privileges showed a surprising increase of £ll on last year’s figures. The draught horse donated by Mrs. E. H.
