WRATHER FORECAST
Meteorological Office, Wellington, Alonday, Alarch 16. 4 p.m. General Situation. —A fairly intense anti-cyclone extends across the, Tasmania to New Zealand, but pressure has remained rather low to the eastward. Forecast. —Winds: Southerly, strong at times along the East Coast as far north as the Cook Strait area, otherwise moderate. Seas (New Zealand waters»: Rough south of Banks Peninsula and a considerable southerly swell northwards to Castlepoint; rather rough in the South Taranaki Bight, elsewhere slight, to moderate seas. Weather: For the most part fine, but some isolated local showers possible, more especially on the east coast and in the far north and south. Temperatures cold, with inland frosts. The New Zealand Friends’ School, St. John's Hill, report for 24 hours ending 6 p.m. yesterday; Bright sunshine, 7 hours 10 minutes. Rainfall, nil. Shade temperatures: Maximum 67deg. Fahr.; minimum, 50dcg. Fahr. Time of sunset to-day, 6.41 p.m. Time of sunrise to-morrow, 6.20 a.m. Phases of the Moon for Alarch:—Full moon.
