Size Of World Compared
The sun and the moon in the heavens look to us about the same size. But there is nc comparison, for the sun is 86-5,000 miles in diameter, and it would take more than 64 million moons txi make one body the size of the sun. Bub the sun itself, though vast beyond our comprehension—it is 1,365,000 times the size of the earth—is a DVJini.v compared with many bodies
in the sky, such as the stars and nebtp lae. Take for example, a star called Antares, which is the chief star in the constellation of Scorpion. If our sun were placed in the centre of Antares it would appear as a mere pin head. Antarcs, the largest star so far measured, has a diameter of more than 400 million miles, while its volume or bulk is about 70 million times greater than that of the sun.
