RANGIWAHIA

PLUNKET SOCIETY. The annual meeting of this subbranch was held at Airs. A. Alurgan’s on Tuesday afternoon. Despite very inclement weather there was a very good attendance, Airs. R. H. Guthrie, secretary of the Alangaweka branefli, presiding. The financial report showed a small debit on the year’s working, but owing to the generosity of Air. and Airs. IL 0. Jewell it is hoped to soon have funds in hand. Airs. Guthrie extended thanks from the Alangaweka branc/h for the way members of the Rangiwahia branch had helped them at their annual appeal, and also- for the splendid way the subscriptions had been paid. A district nurse, wno is stationed at Kimbolton, was present at the meeting and enlightened those present as to the service she could render to residents of the district. As this nurse’s appointment was not well known, her services have not been called upon very often, and consequently the Palmerston Hospital Board were considering removing her. Mesdanres Alorgan and Guthrie were appointed to attend a public meeting to be held in Kimbolton on Thursday to voice this fact. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chair and also to Airs. Alorgan for the use of her room. TWENTY-FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY.
